Thintervention Inspires Change for Weight Loss
By Lauri Porten
Thintervention host Jackie Warner continues to kick butt and inspire drastic lifestyle changes for her overweight clients who are struggling to lose weight and get healthy for good.
The first season of Bravo's new weight loss reality series Thintervention continues to inspire and surprise viewers.
The show is a bit like NBC's Biggest Loser, but instead of the cast being sequestered at a “resort,” the participants on Thintervention continue to live in their homes and deal with real-life situations.
Under the careful eye of host and fitness coach Jackie Warner, Thintervention participants are challenged with making healthy lifestyle changes while going about their daily lives, which is why this reality series is, well, more "real.” The cast is made up of interesting personalities, some flat-out irresistible, and I find myself pulling for these people, wanting them to succeed.
Why is the show relevant for Graphite's clients and followers? Warner's philosophy on weight loss and fitness is very calorie-focused and is completely consistent with our approach to weight loss and fitness. Participants are encouraged to:
- Follow a calorie-controlled eating plan
- Track what they eat in a food journal
- Engage in moderate intensity exercise most days of the week
- Weigh themselves regularly (weekly)
- "Buddy up" with family, friends and other show particants for support
As I continue to watch each episode, I notice that many of the obstacles faced by the cast are the same issues that confront most of us... busy professional lives, children, emotional distress, physical limitations, lack of structure and focus. I find myself relating to these people in ways that I didn't expect when I watched the first episode several weeks ago.
If you're thinking about losing weight and getting healthy, I highly recommend that you check out Thintervention. It's extremely motivating and educational. Jackie Warner isn't pushing magic pills or secret weight loss formulas. She is leading her team to core lifestyle changes than can benefit us all.
Check it on Bravo, Monday night's at 10 ET.
